These groups help to shape public policy and assist in various advisory capacities, allowing the City to benefit from the knowledge of a wide range of community representatives. Several boards and commissions are quasi-judicial, which means the State Code of Iowa has designated some legislative authority to them.<br><br>This page will take you to the various boards and commissions. \u00a0If an open position is needed it will be posted on the correct page, and generally will be noted elsewhere via social media platforms.<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/desoto-ia.org\/?page_id=1150\"><span style=\"color:#4292dd\" class=\"has-inline-color\">Board of Adjustment<br><\/span><\/a><span class=\"has-inline-color has-black-color\">The Board of Adjustment is responsible for reviewing requests for variances to official zoning ordinances enacted by the City of De Soto<br><\/span><br><a href=\"https:\/\/desoto-ia.org\/?page_id=2379\"><span style=\"color:#4292dd\" class=\"has-inline-color\">Library Board of Trustees<br><\/span><\/a><span class=\"has-inline-color has-black-color\">The Library Board of Trustees is responsible for reviewing information that relates to the De Soto Public Library.<\/span><br><br><a href=\"https:\/\/desoto-ia.org\/?page_id=1161\"><span style=\"color:#4292dd\" class=\"has-inline-color\">Planning and Zoning Commission<br><\/span><\/a><span class=\"has-inline-color has-black-color\">The Planning and Zoning Commission considers rezoning, preliminary and final plans, site plans and certain ordinance changes<\/span><br><br><a href=\"https:\/\/desoto-ia.org\/?page_id=2382\"><span style=\"color:#4292dd\" class=\"has-inline-color\">Friends of De Soto Betterment Committee<br><\/span><\/a><span class=\"has-inline-color has-black-color\">This committee is responsible for community outreach programs.
