The City of De Soto provides Trash, Recycling, Sewer, and Water services.  It is necessary to apply for your new services at least 24 hours in advance of your date of possession. It is recommended that you call first to get the preliminary paperwork started. As soon as a start date is determined, please let the City Clerk know.<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n

To protect your identity we require you to apply in person and show proof of your identity with a government-issued picture ID. You will also need to furnish a daytime telephone number, a new mailing address, and a deposit. If you are moving from out of state and cannot come into the office until the closing date, please call at least 24 hours in advance of your date of possession.<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Deposits<\/span><\/strong>
The deposit for setting up service is $150.00, and is paid at City Hall during normal business hours.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Due Dates<\/strong>
<\/mark>Payment for Trash, Recycling,  Sewer, and Water services are due by 4:00 pm on the 15th of each month.  If not received, penalties will be applied, and a delinquent\/disconnect notice will be sent. Payments not received by the designated due date will be subject to shut off and a $75 reconnect fee due before water will be turned back on. You can make a payment using Visa or MasterCard. We can help you set up monthly ACH payment which can automatically transfer the amount due from your checking or savings account on the 15th of each month (or next business day after if the 15th falls on a weekend or holiday). If you choose to use electronic bill pay please allow sufficient time for processing. A night drop box is available outside City Hall as well.<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n

NEW! Online Utility Payments<\/strong>
<\/mark>The City of De Soto has partnered with Payment Services Network for online utility payments. We will have a button icon on the home page of the city website that will prompt you to set up your online payment account with PSN. You can choose to do a one time payment, OR schedule it to automatically pay your utility bill from your bank account every month. Once this feature is available, you can still pay in person at the city hall by debit or credit card, and you can also pay by check. We will not be taking card information for payment over the phone any longer.
