The City of De Soto is located right off Exit 110 where Interstate 80 intersects with U.S. Highway 169. We offer the charm of small-town living with convenient 10+ minute access to the Des Moines metropolitan area. We ocated on the southern edge of Dallas County, one of the fastest growing counties in the country.

Established in 1868, De Soto takes pride in its strong small-town values and family-oriented atmosphere. The city is known as a close-knit, primarily residential community with quiet streets, mature trees, and well-kept neighborhoods.

FRIDAY
8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. (Noon)

CITY HALL VISITS: The City Clerk may occasionally need to leave City Hall during the other business hours to attend to city-related duties. The “public hours” listed above are the times the Clerk is regularly available to assist visitors in person. If a resident needs to visit outside of those hours, appointments may be scheduled, subject to the Clerk’s availability.
