As a member of De Soto Fire & Rescue, you will be required to maintain a good standing within the Fire Department. With that, you will need to respond to at least 10% of the calls within a year, and maintain the state minimum training requirements of 24 hours.

You are hereby notified that your driving record and criminal history will be investigated by the City of DeSoto. Individual character and community standing will also be considered in the application process.

All background checks will be completed in accordance with the DeSoto Fire & Rescue Department bylaws. Your driving record will be examined for traffic violations and/or accidents, on and off the job, before you may operate the city’s equipment, and annually thereafter.
